Our Story 

Wilgano is more than just a spot on the map of Montenegro—it is a family project born from a deep-seated dream of living in harmony with nature, far from the city bustle and the daily rush. After a long search for the perfect corner of the world, we found our place on a picturesque piece of land in Rvaši. Located near the majestic Lake Skadar in the charming Rijeka Crnojevića region, this land—filled with dense forests, crystal-clear streams, and mountain vistas—inspired us to create a sanctuary where people can truly reconnect with the earth.

It began with a vision that quickly turned into action. Our family, supported by close friends and enthusiastic volunteers from all over the world, took on the challenge of building "in the middle of nowhere." In the beginning, there was chaos: an overgrown terrain reclaimed by wild vegetation that required immense effort to clear. We worked with deep respect for the environment—for every tree that had to be removed, we planted new, native species to maintain the ecosystem's balance. Then came the infrastructure: we hand-laid stone paths that wind like natural arteries through the forest, adding rustic charm while making the terrain accessible.

The heart of Wilgano lies in our bungalows. Each one is harmoniously tucked into the forest, designed not to disrupt the landscape but to exist as an integral part of the ecosystem. Surrounded by lush greenery, they offer guests a profound sense of intimacy and privacy, where the rustle of leaves and the song of birds are your only companions.

The journey wasn't without its trials. Heavy rains turned the site into a muddy trap, and scorching summers tested our endurance under the burning sun. There were moments of doubt when nature reminded us of its raw power, but these experiences only strengthened our resolve. Today, Wilgano has evolved into a paradise for the soul. We offer cozy cabins perfect for romantic escapes or family adventures, featuring hammocks swaying lazily between trees, terraces with forest views, a central fire pit for evening stories, a refreshing pool, and a dining area where we serve breakfasts made from local products.
